Here's what they reported:

Israeli naval commandos stormed a flotilla of ships carrying aid and hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists to the blockaded Gaza Strip on Monday, killing at least nine passengers in a predawn raid that set off worldwide condemnation and a diplomatic crisis.

Here's what they should have said (since it's much closer to the truth):

After repeated warnings to a flotilla of six ships carrying aid to the blockaded Gaza Strip on Monday, one of those ships refused to change course and as a result was boarded by a team of elite Israeli naval soldiers. Once the Israelis boarded the ship, they were attacked by dozens of activists wielding steel pipes and knives. Four of the Israeli soldiers were wounded and several had their weapons taken by the activists who then began firing upon the soldiers. Nine of the activists were killed in what was described as "self defense" by the Israeli soldiers.

Basically 6 of one, half dozen of another. As long as you don't know how to count or what a "dozen" means.

Gringomask.com Apologizes to Whites Everywhere.

Caucasians everywhere were outraged at Gringomask.com's use of these insulting and defamatory images of innocent white people who were subjugated and derided when their faces were used on these cardboard cutouts. The masks were intended to be used by Arizona residents wishing not to be racially profiled.

It's bad enough that they hold the better jobs, receive better pay, live in better homes, have higher IQs, have lower incidents of incarceration, and suffer significantly reduced acts of domestic violence to name a few of the injustices. As a result of their protesting the offensive use of the word "gringo", Gringomask.com issued a lengthy apology on their website and removed any indication of the offensive content. Clearly, white people have suffered enough discrimination and oppression at the hands of non-whites the world over and implored Gringomask.com to remove the offensive content. Gringomask.com is only the latest offender in what can only be described as a plague of unfair treatment that has gone on since the dawn of time.

Their apology is all that remains on their site. I am personally relieved that they did this. I don't think my sensitive racial identity could have handled much more of this abuse.

Thanks to your involvement, the GringoMask has achieved its primary objective to raise awareness of the potential for racial profiling by enforcement of Arizona SB 1070. GringoMask was not a commercial product or intended to be a long term project, but a piece of satire to promote discussion and thought.

In addition to raising awareness, the mask was used to promote dialogue between people of different opinions in the hopes of arriving at better solutions than SB 1070, and to show solidarity with Americans of every race and color across the country that found this law unfair in its targeting of a specific ethnic group even if only implicitly. We chose this mask because of its light-hearted nature and tongue-in-cheek approach much in the same vein as Jeff Foxworthy's shtick "You Might be a Redneck" or Carlos Mencia's "beaner" jokes. However, we in no way meant to offend anyone.

We understand from your responses that some people might equate the word "Gringo" with an ethnic slur. We do not. It is simply a slang term used to describe Caucasians, and we don't assign any negative connotations to it. In fact, the mask communicates that looking this way will keep you above suspicion of being an illegal immigrant in Arizona, a positive thing not a derogatory one. We hope everyone will view the mask the way we do...a comical tool to convey a message and raise awareness about an issue that is important to all Americans. If the campaign has been taken in a different light by some, we sincerely regret the misunderstanding.

Arizona's immigration law has sparked outrage amongst many communities across the country. The law gives police the right to arrest anyone whose immigration status may be in question.

 That's it. That's the extent of their explanation of Arizona's immigration law. Anyone reading that article and only that article would leave thinking they understand the law but really having only part of the truth. Get enough of those type of people together and pretty soon you have people voting for things they don't understand.

Of course, this isn't the media's fault or responsibility. They only use their power to evoke change and advance their ideology report the news without filtration of any sort.

It occured to me ...

The media is leading everyone to believe that they won't be able to stop the oil leak in the gulf until August. Hmmmm ... Huge oil slicks ... Hurricanes ... New Orleans (still below sea level.)

I wonder if Obama and the Democrats have had people feverishly working on those levies in New Orleans since they got super-majorities in congress.  I wonder if they have arranged for plenty of boats and booms and oil vacuums.  I wonder if they have approved any burning of oil off the surface of the sea -- or whether they have banned it ... you know ... cuz of the pollution.

I'm not sure of any of the above but I do know one thing for sure ... THEY HAVE THEIR JACKBOOT ON THE THROAT OF BP!!  Rest easy, America, Obama's in charge.

Woops, it ended badly - what a shocker!

A few days ago some "peace activists" set out to try to break the Israeli sea-blockade of Gaza.

Yes, we need a thorough investigation.  We MUST find out HOW this could possibly have happinked ... it's a real mystery ... a head-scratcher to be sure.

The raid, in which at least 10 pro-Palestinian activists were killed, was a new blow to Israel's international standing at a time when the West — including the United States — have grown frustrated with its stance in the peace process. More here 

I notice that nobody ever "grows frustrated" with the terrorists' "stance in the peace process" ... no matter HOW many bombs they lob into Israel.  Ever see any "peace activists" demonstrating against the terrorists who were lobbing the bombs ... every day ... for months and months?  No?  Me either.

Remember when the terrorists in Gaza kept lobbing 100 bombs a day into Israel?  Well, the juice got tired of it and handled the situation.  Do you recall any point during the daily bombings when UN "called for peace and restraint" from the terrorists?  No?  Neither do I.  Anyway, part of the solution to the problem of Gaza terrorists is a sea blockade to stop the flow of weapons etc into Gaza.

So these "peace activists" got a bunch of boats together to "break the blockade."  Ok, this was bad idea the last time they tried it and I believe people terrorists were killed in that attempt as well.  Perhaps they mistook Benjamin Netanyahu for Barack Obama a navel-gazing hippie.

Smart businessman, Steve Wynn, makes the call

Hey - that "Cage Fighting" is some good entertainment, no?

A U.S. cage fighter ripped out the heart of his training partner while he was still alive after becoming convinced he was possessed by the devil, it was alleged today.

Jarrod Wyatt also cut out Taylor Powell's tongue and ripped off most of his face in a brutal assault that police said looked like a scene from a horror film, officers said.

They claim they found the 26-year-old standing naked over his friend's body with parts, including an eyeball, strewn around the blood splattered room in Klamath, California.

I guess a normal person would conclude that his cage fighting days are over.  I sure hope he doesn't spend long in prison, don't you?  If he got out and moved into my neighborhood I think I'd have to inform him that the person responsible for his release looks kind of "devily" to me.  I'd also get a concealed carry permit ... capisce?

So this guy (Frank J) over at IMAO is usually pretty funny. I wandered on over to his blog today and what's the first thing I see:

Liberals keep worrying about how conservatives’ extreme rhetoric could lead to violence, but they never seem to use introspection to draw on their own experiences with extreme rhetoric when making those arguments. It’s almost like they want to be pestering instead of effective.

So I hops on over there and reads the article ... funny stuff ... but true.  I took the liberty of taking some excerpts from the article for your perusal.  The rest is at the link in the above block quote.

Could the overheated rhetoric of tea parties lead to violence? This is apparently a big concern of many liberals these days. Thus, they warn us over and over that we have to watch what we say and how we say it, or people could get hurt.

Bill Clinton recently brought up the Oklahoma City bombing, because if only people hadn’t talked so much about reducing government and hating taxes, Timothy McVeigh would have traded in terrorism for being a gender studies professor.

Conservatives don’t seem be to listening. Perhaps it’s because the left’s message of “You know that rhetoric of yours that is murdering us in the polls? You have to stop it, because theoretically it could lead to violence” just seems a wee bit opportunistic.

Basically, liberals are all starting to believe their own rhetoric about the right being unhinged, and it’s making them unhinged. Joe Klein recently raised the specter of sedition in relation to Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. Soon, we’ll probably hear liberals saying, “Conservatives are becoming just like Nazis! We need to round them up and put them into camps to stop them!”

So, again, the keyword is “introspection.” Liberals have a lot to teach conservatives about the dangers of letting political rhetoric go too far, but they need to have the humility to take an honest look at themselves if they want conservatives to listen. But should conservatives be more introspective before criticizing liberals’ behavior? Of course not; we don’t have time for navel-gazing. What are we? A bunch of hippies?

Catching up on an item from the Thursday, May 20, The View on ABC, comedian George Lopez appeared as a guest and made a few anti-Sarah Palin cracks as he joked with the group about the new immigration law in Arizona, asserting that if Palin were to become President, he and other Latinos would flee the country: "This is the answer to immigration, I'm going to tell you right now. This is how to get every Latino to go back to where they came from: Elect her President in 2012. ... We will leave voluntarily. We'll leave. We'll go voluntarily and take Canadians with us."  Ha ha, funny stuff, Lopez.

He soon joked about Palin fitting the "profile" of a Latina: "Sarah Palin needs to be careful because she fits the profile of a Latina. ... Her and her daughter have a kid the same age. ... She works and her husband don't. ... She talks a lot of smack and he don't say one word. That's very Latino. But he's a stay-at-home dad. And London’s Science Museum recently announced that a permanent exhibit scheduled to open later this year would be called the Climate Science Gallery — not the Climate Change Gallery as had previously been planned.

“Before, I thought, ‘Oh my God, this climate change problem is just dreadful,’ ” said Jillian Leddra, 50, a musician who was shopping in London on a recent lunch hour. “But now I have my doubts, and I’m wondering if it’s been overhyped.” More hilarity here:

U.N. finds something even MORE important than "climate change"

The economic case for global action to stop the destruction of the natural world is even more powerful than the argument for tackling climate change, a major report for the United Nations will declare this summer.

To mark the UN's International Day for Biological Diversity tomorrow, hundreds of British companies, charities and other organisations have backed an open letter from the Natural History Museum's director Michael Dixon warning that "the diversity of life, so crucial to our security, health, wealth and wellbeing is being eroded".

Huh?  Since when do we need a "day" to appreciate biological diversity?   Does it seem to you they might have planned this "day" ahead of time.  That is to say, they KNEW they were going to make a big deal out of this when they planned the "day."  Hmmmm, mighty smart of our masterminds to think of this, wouldn't you say?  Nah, never mind, I'm just paranoid ... they UN would never manipulate us like this, after all, they only have our best interests in mind.

Update on Mojave Cross ( 10/07/09 )

The longtime caretakers of a Mojave Desert cross that led to a Supreme Court case are vowing to replace the memorial, which was stolen less than two weeks after the high court allowed it to remain standing.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California had sued over the cross on federal land, saying it was a violation of the constitutional separation of church and state.

The cross has been covered with a tarp or a wooden box since 2002 by a court order to avoid violating federal law mandating the separation of church and state. The 75-year-old monument was the target of a longstanding legal challenge from the ACLU, which charged that the cross is a religious symbol that shouldn't be allowed on public land. The U.S. Supreme Court last month refused to order that it be torn down in a 5-4 decision.

The Liberty Institute is now offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the case, and the National Park Service has established a tip hotline seeking information leading to the recovery of the cross. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Park Service at (760) 252-6120.

It's not clear if a replacement cross will be permitted. A park service spokeswoman says officials are waiting on word from the Justice Department.

This idiot Olbermann pulls the classic Lib argument- when someone has the wisdom to avoid what would only be a highly biased, illogical, and abusive diatribe interview, you call them "scared" or "unready". Of course, to the thoughtful mind, it's just avoidance of an unpleasant waste of time where you have absolutely nothing to gain. Differences in Conservatives and Libs

If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one. If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed. If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.. If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone. If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life. If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect. If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him. If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down. If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church. A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!) If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

None Are So Blind As Those Who Refuse to See.

However, I think this guy sees perfectly clearly but he realizes he'll get a lot more air time by arguing the ridiculous. It wouldn't be so objectionable to call radical islamists "Radical Islamists" if it weren't for the fact that they're all Islamic. It doesn't matter that they don't represent all Islamists, the idea is not to call them Islamists- the idea is to call them Radical Islamists. I guess Mr. Colmes just doesn't see the distinction. His argument makes about as much sense as objecting to the term "Crazy Person" because it implies that all people are crazy. Maybe he should google "qualifier" or "adjective".

The truth is that he's confusing the idea of discrimination with being discriminating. The truth is that most Muslims are peaceful but some Muslims are not. We intelligently identify those Muslims by calling them "Radical Islamists". To suggest that doing this maligns all Muslims is just a way of attempting to convince us that turning a blind eye to legitimate threats and danger will make them go away. For those of us living in the real world and not in fantasy land, this doesn't make any sense at all.

For me, it makes just as much sense to argue that driving a car for a long distance in the rain after having a few cocktails will be "fine" as long as you really concentrate. Anyone who has studied actual statistics for even a moment knows this is not true.

Mr. Colmes perpetuates the Liberal mentality that changing the name of something changes anything. It seems to be their goal in life to continually distract from the truth by either forcing the idea of using ridiculous nomenclature (e.g. African-American instead of Black) or by insisting that a meaningful and descriptive expression is bigoted, racist, or ignorant.

Even if he were able to make a strong case for his argument, what should we be calling them instead? When someone says "Radical Islamist", I know exactly what they mean. When someone says "heads up" at a baseball game, I know exactly what they mean. I guess they want us to be so politically correct that we can't say "Kleenex" when we actually mean "facial tissue" because, you know, "Kleenex" is a brand name even though we all know exactly what it means.

I guess being crystal clear and concise is a sin when you're a Liberal.

The project was a complete and utter failure. The cartoonist who thought up the idea has retreated and has implored everyone involved NOT to draw Mohammed for fear of Islamic retribution. There's a facebook group dedicated to this cause but membership is sparse [79,369 members] and while it's still early in the day, there were almost no [6,841 drawings] submissions of drawings. The terrorists have won. This drawing submitted shows just how paralyzed with fear we are.

New York (CNN) -- The wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was charged with drunken driving after a police officer saw her run over a curb outside a school, authorities said Tuesday night.

Mary Richardson Kennedy was arrested Saturday night in Bedford, New York, a sergeant with the town's police department said.

Kennedy's blood alcohol level was 0.11, said Sgt. Matthew Dunn. The legal limit is 0.08.

He confirmed published reports that an officer saw Kennedy drive over a curb outside a school in her station wagon.

A message left for Robert Kennedy's spokesperson was not returned.

Bedford, in Westchester County, is about an hour north of New York City.

Democrats were hear to say, "What's the big deal? It's not like school was in session when it happened."

It Sure Would Be Nice to Get a Yes or a No For a Change.

I mean, I'm in defense of elitism as much as the next guy. However, these people who think they should do our thinking for us are getting tiresome- particularly when we understand the facts and they don't. Furthermore, how does the Director of Homeland Security have the audacity to not know the facts of the controversial Arizona immigration law?

Attorney General Holder has already been run through the ringer of embarrassment. Shouldn't that be some kind of deterrent? Wouldn't that have inspired everyone who might ever be asked about their opinion on the law to make damn sure they fully understood it? Well the short answer is "no"- not for Democrats.

Democrats don't experience sensations of embarrassment. After eons of being surrounded by the "I'm ok, you're ok" crowd to whom self-esteem is infinitely more important than achievement they've lost touch with many basic human emotions. They're doused in a soup of unwarranted approval and live in an environment of "you help me and I'll help you" style of advancement. This system works perfectly fine for people who are employed in industries which exist solely to create jobs- the government, the post office, and museums for example, but it doesn't work if you want to be part of something that brings solutions and improvement rather than something to keep the second-stringers and bottom-feeders busy.

In spite of the embarrassment that Mr. Holder experienced, Ms. Napolitano somehow decided that she would never need to know nor understand this law. I guess she somehow came to the conclusion that it had nothing to do with her responsibilities as the Director of Homeland Security. Of course, she's the same person who proclaimed that the "system is working" when the notorious "underwear bomber" eluded countless security checkpoints and was ultimately subdued by passengers on the plane. I'm not sure how she worked it out in her mind that these passengers were under her purview but I guess that's how elitism works- you take credit for other people's work.

Awesome.

Gary Pierce, one of the commissioners chosen in state-wide elections to the utility regulation panel, notes that Los Angeles gets about 25% of its power from Arizona producers. If the City of Angels really wants a boycott, Pierce offers his services to help, as he explains in a letter to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and copied to Hot Air:

People of goodwill can disagree over the merits of SB 1070. A state-wide economic boycott of Arizona is not a message sent in goodwill.

New pricing structure

CLAYTON, Mo. - Panera Bread Co. is asking customers at a new restaurant to pay what they want.

The national bakery and restaurant chain launched a new nonprofit store here this week that has the same menu as its other 1,400 locations. But the prices are a little different — there aren't any. Customers are told to donate what they want for a meal, whether it's the full suggested price, a penny or $100.

The new store in the upscale St. Louis suburb of Clayton is the first of what will Panera hopes will be many around the country. Ronald Shaich, Panera's CEO until last week, was on hand at the new bakery Monday to explain the system to customers.

The pilot restaurant is run by a nonprofit foundation. If it can sustain itself financially, Panera will expand the model around the country within months. It all depends on whether customers will abide by the motto that hangs above the deli counter: "Take what you need, leave your fair share." More here:

The notorious and formerly funny movie director Woody Allen is apparently frustrated with the cumbersome operations of American democracy too.

The one-time-father-now-husband-of-his-daughter tells the Spanish-language magazine La Vanguardia that the United States' Democratic Smoker-in-Chief could accomplish a whole lot more from his White House if he didn't have so many disorderly, annoying people objecting, distracting and criticizing him all the time.

Such social messiness has been known to occur in functioning democracies, even cinematic ones, although less often on celebrity-strewn movie sets under the direction of a dictatorial director.

"It would be good...if (Obama) could be dictator for a few years because he could do a lot of good things quickly," Allen is quoted as saying.

Allen is also said to have said:

I am pleased with Obama. I think he is brilliant. The Republican Party should get out of his way and stop trying to hurt him.

NEW YORK (AP) - The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama's controversial former pastor, said in a letter obtained by The Associated Press that he is "toxic" to the Obama administration and that the president "threw me under the bus."

In his strongest language to date about the administration's 2-year-old rift with the Chicago pastor, Wright told a group raising money for African relief that his pleas to release frozen funds for use in earthquake-ravaged Haiti would likely be ignored.

"No one in the Obama administration will respond to me, listen to me, talk to me or read anything that I write to them. I am 'toxic' in terms of the Obama administration," Wright wrote the president of Africa 6000 International earlier this year.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (AP) - A California high school girl's softball coach has apologized for requiring eight players who struck out during a recent game to drink soda pop out of a team member's shoe, a school district official said.

The South Tahoe High School varsity players drank the soda at a team slumber party on May 1, hours after a game against Wooster High School of Reno, Nev.

"It was meant as a joke, and obviously it went too far," Lake Tahoe Unified School District superintendent James Tarwater said.

A parent complained about the incident and coach Anneliese Neitling has since apologized, Tarwater said. It was a young coach's mistake and the matter will be addressed during Neitling's postseason evaluation, he said.

"People learn from mistakes," Tarwater said. "She does a good job pulling the team together, morale-wise and support-wise." More here:

The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of this old disease. The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectim. It's pronounced "Gonna re-elect 'em," and it is a terrible obamanation.

The disease is contracted through dangerous and high risk behavior involving putting your cranium up your rectum. Many victims contracted it in 2008...but now most people, after having been infected for the past 1-2 years, are starting to realize how destructive this sickness is.

It's sad because Gonorrhea Lectim is easily cured with a new drug just coming on the market called Votemout. You take the first dose in 2010 and the second dose in 2012 and simply don't engage in such behavior again; otherwise, it could become permanent and eventually wipe out all life as we know it.

Several states are already on top of this, like Virginia and New Jersey , and apparently now Massachusetts , with many more seeing the writing on the wall.

I know I've personally been over this topic several times- a few times on this very blog- but this is yet another example of choosing a Red Herring rather than debating the facts. I mean, only a fool would argue that it's justifiable to pull anyone over and check their citizenship papers ["papers" I love that usage because it reminds me of all the WWII films I've seen where the Nazis ask everyone for their "papers". Of course, they then say in a very somber tone with very somber and serious and dire background music, "Your papers... are not in order... you must come with us." All the while using their finest, nastiest, Doberman Pinscher German Ockzunt.]

The fact that this is not what the law states nor is it what actually happens. This won't stop the Libs from chanting about the systemic violations of the civil liberties of our brothers and sisters to the south. Obviously (at least to those of you who read and understand this blog), if they chose to argue against the word and spirit of the actual law, they'd have nothing to pass the time.

I'm not going to fault the cartoonist here. Clearly, he's providing a visual commentary on what enough people actually believe to make his drawing popular. The problem here though is that- much like a Jackson Pollock painting with a cigarette extinguished in it- is he making a statement or is he just mocking us? I'll leave that for you to decide.
